Freeze padlets

You can now freeze padlets to lock in their content forever.

In 2011, a paleontologist named Xida Ling filmed himself cooking and eating the meat of a woolly mammoth. The animal had been frozen so comprehensively by Siberian permafrost that its meat was preserved for over 4,000 years.

Ling said the meat “tasted like wild boar.”

The moral of the story: if you want to preserve something, freeze it. As of now, this moral also applies to padlets.

Freeze your padlets

When you freeze a padlet, you prohibit any changes to its content. This means that if you freeze a padlet, no one will be able to add, edit, or delete posts. Like the frozen mammoth, your padlet will be preserved.

To freeze a padlet, simply click the three-dot button in the action bar, and select “Freeze padlet”. Only admins of a padlet are allowed to freeze or unfreeze.

Unlike the mammoth, if you ever decide to unfreeze your padlet, it will function exactly as it did before.
