The 2023 autumn release
A summary of every new feature in our latest release.
This fall, Padlet released over 40 new features.
This is one of our biggest releases and it includes some of our most requested features. We’ve added pinned posts, wide posts, breakout links, submission request links, and a suite of post customization options. We’ve added a lot, and we’ve built over one hundred templates to help you put it all together.
Check out the major changes in our 2023 Autumn release:
Templates
Choose from over 100 pre-built templates instead of starting with a blank board.
Custom post fields
Control the structure of posts on your padlet. Customize your post composer with editable placeholders, text fields, and attachment options.
Breakout links and submission request links
Send links that provide access to only one section of your padlet, and send links that allow users to submit posts without seeing the rest of the padlet.
Customizable PDF exports
Export your padlet as a formatted handout or slides.
Improvements to Safety Net
We now offer control over Safety Net’s content standards and we’ve expanded Safety Net’s jurisdiction to audio, video, and comments.
ClassLink integration
Backpack organizations can now manage users and allow sign-ins through ClassLink.
Recently deleted folder
Deleted padlets will now be stored in a “Trash” folder on the dashboard.
Pinned posts
Pin a post to the top of your padlet.
Wide posts
Make posts wider to fill up the space on your padlet.
Semantic search on the dashboard
Search for padlets on your dashboard with phrases or expressions related to the title or description of the padlet.
Improved comment formatting
Format comment text with bold text, italic text, strikethrough text, inline code, and mentions.
Redesigned share panel
The new share panel simplifies privacy settings and link sharing.
New Make a padlet panel
The new Make a padlet panel includes templates and streamlines the creation of blank padlets.
Open padlets in slideshow view
Open a padlet in slideshow from the more menu on the padlet’s dashboard icon.

Select the button with a cog icon to open the settings panel and change format.
